This blog has been neglected for too many days, and what better day to get back to blogging that Blog Day?

What is BlogDay?

BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day Bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors.

With the goal explained above, here are the bogs I picked for this:

  • Del derecho y las normas, David Maeztu writes this blog about legal issues and his interpretation, focused on spanish law.

  • Techquila shots. Techquila Shots is about ideas and how things can be “improved” on the web, by Steve Poland

  • Loogic. Blog about internet business in spanish.

  • 120% Linux. Rants and news about Linux with the comments of outime.

  • Living in Japan Is a Blog about an English-speaking foreigner’s observations and explorations. (like Kirai )

Those are the recommendations of the day, I promise that the next Blog Day will be many more.

Evolucion de los blogs

Una imagen que me hizo mucha gracia y que coincide perfectamente con lo que hace el 95% si no es que un porcentaje mayor de los que tienen (o tenemos) un blog, que es permitir decir lo que quieres o si lo quieren ver de otra forma expresar su individualidad y publicarlo para que todo el mundo lo vea.

Sin contar los blogs comerciales y los splogs, en la gran mayoria lo que ves en ellos es precisamente lo que se muestra en la imagen de arriba, sustituyendo al gato por el interes principal del propietario del blog. Siguiendo con el tema, lo mismo pasa en YouTube, Flickr y ahora en Twitter.

Google Reader trends

No me habia puesto a pensar cuanto tiempo se puede llegar a pasar leyendo blogs o en tu feed reader, una de las caracteristicas de Google Reader a la que no le habia prestado atencion es a la seccion Trends, que te muestra los cuantos articulos y de que blogs lees con mayor frecuencia, que porcentaje de estos lees, cuales se actualizan con mas frecuencia y el numero promedio de posts, los tags que incluyen y a cuales de estos le pones mas atencion.

De todos estos datos puedes ver el Top 10, 20 o 40, que me parece util para depurar tu lista de feeds y eliminar algunos que ya no lees. Tambien incluye una grafica y un resumen para darte una idea rapida.

Google Reader

Me pregunto por que no han incluido esto en Gmail y Google Groups? sin duda tambien arrojaria datos interesantes del tiempo que pasamos leyendo emails y grupos de mensajes.
