No, it's not about putting something on top of your toast, it's about toasting it with whatever you want: an image, a small text, etc...
In Evil Mad Scientists they are working on a toaster device to draw with a Hot-air gun and a X-Y motion control system.
It's not a bad idea. Impractical, but not bad.
